Community Involvement

In addition to her professional accomplishments, our CEO Latia actively contributes to her community through volunteering and mentorship programs. She is passionate about empowering and supporting our youth in their endeavors. Below are some of the organizations we actively support and/or partner with.

Million Women Mentors of South Carolina (MWM-SC)

LG Solutions' Supporting Efforts

Latia is a founding member of the Million Women Mentors South Carolina Chapter. In the midst of COVID, she was asked to lead the organization as the State Chair. Under her leadership, MWM-SC provides book scholarships to students, are active participants in STEM festivals throughout the state, actively builds regional support and partnerships in the 5 regions of South Carolina (Midlands, Lowcountry, Upstate, PeeDee, and Catawba), in addition to the annual symposium, Student Lead application, and other activities to create an environment for STEM students to thrive.

How Can You Donate?

MWM-SC is an affiliate of South Carolina’s Coalition for Math and Science (SCCMS) at Clemson University. Financial oversight is provided by the Clemson University Foundation; 501 (c) 3 #57-0426335. No donation is too small, and every dollar counts. Your support will help us to empower more women and girls in South Carolina and make a positive impact in our community.

LG Solutions support the York County Teen Science Café by sharing the Million Women Mentor’s speakers (including LG Solution’s CEO Latia Gary), Facebook and LinkedIn page, and participating in board meetings.

Their programs aim to alter perspectives on financial management, teaching strategies that lead to long-term positive outcomes. Participants gain the tools and knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions and secure their financial well-being.

LG Solutions' Supporting Efforts

LG Solutions’ CEO first developed an essential skills group mentoring concept at the request of Midlands Middle College. The high school wanted a mentoring program to develop the life skills of their students in the workforce. Latia led the high school program from 2016 to 2020. She decided to expand the program to expose students to opportunities beyond their immediate peripheral view.
